Black Adam is an upcoming DCEU film that looks set to become one of the mainstays of Warner Bros. and DC Films. The reason is quite simple, because the mega star Dwayne Johnson plays a direct role as Teth-Adam / Black Adam in it. Not to mention because the film will present many interesting characters that exceed fan expectations. Including the superheroes Doctor Fate, Atom Smasher, Cyclone, and Hawkman from the Justice Society of America superhero team.
Although WB has released the synopsis, not a few fans are still curious about the meeting of Black Adam and JSA later. Moreover, in the film JSA will try to stop Adam’s rampage first, before inviting him to join forces to face a stronger enemy. Considering Adam’s highly self-esteemed character, it will be interesting to see how the JSA’s end result will be. To make fans even more curious, Johnson just revealed that his character has a ‘villain’ morality.
Johnson Reveals Morality of Villain Black Adam
Recently through his personal Instagram account, Johnson shared the results of his interview with Anthony Breznica of Vanity Vair. The news quote reads “The Rock Goes Bad: Dwayne Johnson becomes a villain as Adam. This DC antihero has all of Superman’s powers, except forgiveness, empathy, and compassion.” From this quote it is quite clear that Adam is not a superhero figure as we have hoped. Because in truth he is an anti-hero who will not hesitate to kill in order to achieve his goals.
Not long ago Johnson himself even had time to reveal that his character is not the same as superheroes in general. “Superman doesn’t kill because he has a way of life that he respects. [On the other hand] Black adam also has a pretty unique code of ethics as well,” said Johnson. “I’m very happy to explain this, he [Adam] would not hesitate to split someone’s body.”
Based on all the portrayals of Adam’s character so far, we can’t deny that he is indeed a brutal character. Moreover, in the previous trailer, Adam was seen able to make a person’s body shattered with his strength. So, the superhero movie that we will see later will definitely be different from most of the previous DCEU superhero films. Where Adam will be present as a brutal and unforgiving antihero, in his first solo film which will air on October 21.
