Full of sad death, maybe that’s the sentence that describes the Final Destination franchise. As of now, there are 5 films that have been released, and all of them feature various deaths as the main selling points. Every Final Destination always presents the same formula, a group of people who know that they will die after surviving the previous deadly event.
And now, Final Destination 6 is officially going into production soon. Broadly speaking, Final Destination features an invisible villain, namely death. With the uniqueness of the story, it’s only natural that Final Destination attracts the attention of many fans. But after more than 10 years the last film was released in 2011, New Line never made a sequel. His last film, Final Destination 5, grossed $157 million, with a budget of $40 million. But recently, Final Destination 6 suddenly appeared with surprising news.
Final Destination 6 Partners with a New Director
Reporting from THR, New Line Cinema has recruited two directors who succeeded in working on the 2018 film Freaks, Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein. Reportedly, Lipvovsky and Stein will work on Final Destination 6 with a script directed by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor. The selection of directors for the latest Final Destination is said to have been tough, with New Line selecting 200 candidates for directors, before their choice fell to Lipovsky and Stein.
Some time ago, the creator of Final Destination, Jeffrey Reddick promised that the sixth film will be very different from the previous film. “Final Destination 6 isn’t just a film about one group rigging death, then dying. Each film we add additional changes to the plot a little, while for this one (Final Destination 6), it doesn’t follow the existing formula.” Said Jeffrey to Central Dread.
Unfortunately, New Line still hasn’t provided any leaks regarding the plot of the film. Also, it is still unknown who will be starring, and when the film will be released.
