Knives Out is a crime drama film written, produced and directed by Rian Johnson. In the film, a detective named Benoit Blanc is assigned to uncover a murder case that occurred at the Harlan family’s house. When Harlan celebrates his birthday, he is found dead. From clues after clues that Blanc found, he was finally able to reveal who the real killer of Harlan was, who was none other than a member of Harlan’s own family.
With a stellar cast and an interesting story, it’s only natural that Knives Out finally gets a lot of praise. Since its release, Knives Out has grossed over $311 million. Even though the budget for making the film was only $40 million. The film was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Seeing this success, it’s only natural that Lionsgate finally plans to make a sequel to the film.
New Knives Out 2 Trailer!
Well recently, Lionsgate released the first trailer for the Knives Out sequel, officially titled Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. You can see the trailer here. Uniquely, geeks, the second film will be slightly different from the first film. Through the trailer, we learn that Benoit Blanc will be taken somewhere and caught up in a game to guess who the real killer is. Meanwhile other plots for the film have yet to be revealed.
Just like the first film, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery also features many Hollywood stars. The film will feature several famous Hollywood stars such as Dave Bautista, Edward Norton, Kate Hudson, Madelyn Cline, Kathryn Hahn, Ethan Hawke, and Jessica Henwick. Meanwhile, Daniel Craig himself is confirmed to return to play Benoit Blanc. Because it tells a completely new murder scene, it seems that none of the old characters (other than Benoit Blanc) will return in this film.
For those of you who can’t wait to see Benoit Blanc’s action in uncovering the murder case, unfortunately you have to be a little patient. The reason is, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery can only be seen at the end of next year, precisely on December 23, 2022. Let’s just wait, geeks, what surprises Rian Johnson presents in his film.
